My name is Gill Whelan, and I have been coaching in some form for 25 years now. My work in coaching clients in the fitness and wellness realm first began about 11 years ago. I have studied under and trained with experts in fitness, health, nutrition, mindset and overall wellness, all over the world. Virtual Bootcamp translates everything that I have learned over the past 11 years into a format where absolutely everyBODY can participate and feel challenged.
I started coaching at a local gym around 6 years ago and upon their closure, I continued coaching various clinics with our founded group name Team Torrential. These clinics included: Learn to Run, 5K clinics, Half Marathon, Tely 10, and Cape to Cabot. I started running in 2009 and it has brought so many amazing inspiring people into my life. I am the runner I am today because of the amazing running community I am fortunate enough to have around me! Running has taken me places I would otherwise not have gone. I am every day grateful for the ability to run! I love helping others put one foot in front of the other, stepping out of comfort zones, and crushing their goals.
My name is Matthew McCarthy. I'll be helping Gill and the Whelan Wellness team with various things, focusing on marketing-related tasks. I'm in my final year of the Business Commerce program at Memorial University. With the majority of my schooling online, I have plenty of spare time. You can generally find me playing sports, travelling or laughing with my friends at a local brewery.
Living a life of wellness in accordance to my core values embodies everything I want to be as a man, a husband, a father, a business owner, etc. I'm here to make memories and have fun along the way. My goal is to fill my life, and my family's life with experiences and moments, and live the best life we can live.
Every founder has their “why” - and for Gill, this crew is a big part of her why. Meet Pete, Hunter, and Max. Each and every day, Gill strives to show her boys that if you set your mind to something and have true passion for your work, you can create or be anything.
If you have been to a Whelan Wellness tea time, we've likely already met. If you haven't, what are you waiting for! I'm always around for a tea time session - hence why I'm the mascot. Before you ask - I am a Pug Tzu (Pug and Shih Tzu), and I am the cutest member of the Whelan Family (sorry Max).
Now that you've met our team and learned more about Whelan Wellness, check out our pride and joy - the Whelan Wellness Virtual Bootcamp program.
