Yoga Instructor & Owner @ Megan Humphrey Yoga

Megan Humphrey

Megan is a 200 hour certified vinyasa yoga teacher based in Corner Brook, NL and is the owner of Megan Humphrey Yoga. She holds additional certifications in Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra and is currently enrolled in her 300 hour teacher training with Yoga Medicine. Megan believes in making yoga an accessible and enjoyable practice for all abilities and backgrounds and values the many physical and psychological benefits that the practice offers. Megan hosts in-person and online classes and regularly partners with other local businesses to offer unique yoga experiences.

Alex Blagdon

At 8 years old Alexandra Blagdon fell in love with cooking. Her culinary adventure started with apple and ham omelettes for her mother and mastering the easy bake oven. She attended Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland which focused on fresh produce and respect for all ingredients. With the luxury of having 100 acres of organic farm land came harvesting the vegetables and milking the cows. They truly embraced the farm to table mentality which inspires her to forage here in Newfoundland. Alexandra moved to Tuscany early in her career to work at Villa Bordoni. Surrounded by olive trees and vineyards, Villa Bordoni focused on traditional Italian dishes with a modern twist. After experiencing the authenticity of food culture in Europe she couldn’t stop travelling and cooking in various countries. Creating guest experiences in Canada, Italy, France, New York, Croatia, etc. vowing not to stop until her tastebuds fall off!

Registered Dietitian @ Mindset Nutrition + Wellness

Andrea Stokes

Andrea Stokes is a registered dietitian (RD) and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor based in St. John’s, NL. She counsels from a weight-inclusive, non-diet approach with a focus on building a healthy relationship with food. This means breaking free from unnecessary food rules and restriction and instead encouraging clients to honour their body and nutritional needs, while also being able to fully enjoy food and all the benefits it brings to our lives. Andrea is passionate about following the principles of Intuitive Eating® and Health At Every Size® (HAES®), which promote health enhancement and respectful care for all individuals, and encourage making peace with food and exercise, as well as being kind to our bodies.

Clinical Psychologist @ The Beacon Centre

Dr. Shannon Edison

Dr. Shannon Edison is a clinical psychologist and a director at the Beacon Centre, a private practice in St. John's, NL. She completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Guelph in 2008. Prior to working full-time in private practice, Dr. Edison worked in a variety of settings, including the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (Toronto, ON), Hamilton Health Sciences Centre (Hamilton, ON), and Eastern Health (St. John's, NL). As a director at the Beacon Centre, Dr. Edison provides therapy services to children, adolescents, families, and adults presenting with a variety of mental health concerns. The Whelan Wellness approach to wellness aligns with Dr. Edison's perspectives and the work she does with her clients.

Registered Dietitian (RD)

Emily Opthof

Emily Opthof is a Registered Dietitian (RD) based in Ontario (but she practices virtually in NL!). She has a special focus in reproductive health education and counsels from a weight-inclusive and non-diet approach. This means helping clients address period health, hormone and fertility concerns while honouring their body and ditching the diet mentality when it comes to healthy hormones. She has additional training in sports nutrition and nutrition counselling to support eating disorder recovery. Emily is passionate about inclusive nutrition care and incorporating the principles of Intuitive Eating (R) into her work.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What equipment do I need to get started?

    It depends! For our workout classes, you can absolutely be challenged with bodyweight if you do not have access to any equipment. You can also use items around the house for extra weight or resistance - such as laundry detergent bottles or filled water bottles. If you are looking to purchase some equipment, we also sell resistance bands in our merch store at whelanwellnessmerch.ca! It completely depends on what you need as an individual to challenge yourself safely.

  • Where do I access Virtual Bootcamp content as a member?

    Once you are registered, there will be a sign in option that shows up in the menu at the top of this page. From there you will be able to log in and access all Virtual Bootcamp classes.

  • Are taxes included in both membership options?

    Yes! Taxes are included, so the price that you see listed is the price that you will pay. Note that all prices listed are in Canadian Dollars.

  • Can I purchase with PayPal?

    Unfortunately, you will not be able to register for a membership through PayPal.

  • Can I gift a membership or purchase a gift card?

  • I have a question but it wasn't answered here. Where can I get support?

  • I have a single-session Virtual Bootcamp gift card. Can I still use it?

    If you’ve previously purchased a gift card amount for $57.50, that amount will be honoured towards recurring sessions. As of April 28, 2025, we have removed single-session Bootcamp gift cards from our offerings. If you have a gift card that was purchased before April 28, 2025, please reach out to us at [email protected]. We'll help you verify your gift card and provide you with a special link to register for your session. New Gift Card Policy:
Going forward, all gift cards will be redeemable only toward multi-session packages or memberships. Single-session gift cards are no longer available for purchase. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us — we're happy to help!
